Edits for PC is an independent, unofficial guide to using Instagram Edits on a desktop computer. It is written for creators who start a project on their phone and want a bigger screen, a steadier workflow, and a clearer view of the timeline.
This site is not affiliated with Meta Platforms, Inc. or Instagram, and it is not the official Edits website. Edits and Instagram are trademarks of their respective owners. Nothing here is an official download, and we never host app files.
Who writes this site
Our editor is Alex Carter, Editor. Alex tests the desktop workflows described on this site, checks them against the official app store listings and Meta’s own help pages, and updates guides when the app changes. When a step no longer works, we say so and fix the guide.
What we cover
- How to run Edits on Windows and Mac today, using an Android emulator with the official mobile app
- Phone-plus-desktop workflows: shooting and rough-cutting on your phone, then finishing at your desk
- Export settings, captions, transitions, effects, and troubleshooting for common errors
- Honest comparisons with other editors, so you can pick the right tool for each project
How we keep guides honest
As of October 24, 2026, Meta has not released an official desktop version of Edits. Every guide on this site is built around that fact. Where we describe an emulator route, we name the emulator, list its system requirements, and note its limits. Where a feature only exists on the mobile app, we say so plainly.
If you spot an error, please tell us through the contact page. We correct mistakes and note the correction on the affected page.
